Great Smoky Mountains in the Fall 2017

Great Smoky Mountains in the Fall 2017

The Appalachian Mountains are nothing short of breathtaking. My favorite time to visit the mountains is in the fall. It was decided on a whim I would drive up with the kids to visit family. I thought I would take this opportunity to capture some really unique shots of the fall foliage and, hopefully, some wildlife. I have to say, this trip was a success! I managed to get several shots that I am exceptionally proud of.

There is something indescribable about riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. You just have to see it to believe it. The altitude alone is soothing to the soul. It really is God’s country up there and I always look forward to the next trip. While driving through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, I was ecstatic to capture a bull elk with a full rack, about 30 yards away!!! How lucky can I be?

I’m looking forward to the next trip in the spring. I will be testing my photographic skills on lots of waterfalls in the area. So, stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by.
